Champions League chasing Foxes travel to Molineux in Midlands clash against an out of form Wolves

Leicester City occupy third place ahead of an all-important fixture at Molineux as they face up to an out of form Wolverhampton Wanderers side.

Recently, the Foxes were defeated 3-1 at the King Power Stadium by Leeds United. Despite taking the lead through Harvey Barnes, Leeds equalised shortly after via Stuart Dallas. Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison eventually popped up and secured the victory for the Yorkshire side.

Although they saw lost to the Whites, it was only a minor blip in their recent form as the Foxes have won three, drawn once and lost once in their last five matches in the Premier League.

Rodgers’ side have been without star striker, Jamie Vardy, for four gameweeks but the retired England international is in contention for Leicester’s trip to the West Midlands.

Vardy has consistently remained the Foxes goal threat, with 11 goals in 18 matches so far this season, the 34-year-old has proved that his ability to put the ball in the back of the net has aged like a fine wine.

Following the striker’s recent hip operation, Rodgers has insisted he won’t rush Vardy back to first-team football. Since then the former England international is within contention for a start at Molineux.

Their hosts returned back to winning ways after their 2-1 win against Arsenal, Wolves’ first win in eight games, easing the growing pressures on Nuno Espirito Santo. Goals from João Moutinho and Rúben Neves was enough to sink nine-man Arsenal.

Last season, Nuno’s side finished in seventh place, level on points with Tottenham Hotspur but lost out on the Europa League qualifiers on goal difference. However, this year it’s a slightly different story for Wolves.

Wanderers’ new singing, Willian Jose, will hope to open his account for his side against the Foxes. The Brazilian arrived at Molineux in the January transfer window from Real Sociedad for an initial loan and an option of a permanent transfer thought to be worth around £20million at the end of the season. The 29-year-old arrived at Wolves to replace the injured Raul Jimenez.

Wolves have major concerns regarding their left-back position with Marcal, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Jonny Castro Otto all being side-lined as well as Romain Saiss who has been playing there, out of position is also missing from action.

On paper coming into this Midlands affair, Leicester City come across as strong favourites based on recent performances and players who’re set to be available.

The Foxes can further cement their position in the top four with a win against Nuno’s side, moving within touching distance of first place. Whilst a win for the Wanderers would move them further up mid-table.
