Just six games remain for Jonathan Woodgate’s Cherries to cement their place in the Championship play-offs for a shot at promotion to the Premier League, and Tuesday night’s encounter with Huddersfield Town requires nothing less than three points.

Bournemouth currently sit sixth in England’s second tier, the final remaining play-off place, and could leapfrog Barnsley in to fifth place with what would be a vital win at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The southerners are coming off the back of a 4-1 win at home to Coventry City, where Arnaut Danjuma continued his impressive form and netted a brace past the Sky Blues.

Since taking charge, Woodgate’s men have lost just once on the road in his two-month spell as manager. This will be at the back of his mind, however, as no room to think of anything but three points in a game such as this.

Winger Junior Stanislas, who boasts an imposing ten goals and four assists this season, is available for the fixture after missing the Cherries’ past two encounters against Coventry and Bournemouth respectively.

Managing just 39 minutes since mid-March, in what is one of the most important times in the league campaign, Stanislas is raring to get back amongst the goals.

“He has been fantastic this season, so we are looking forward to having him back. He has been brilliant for us with the goals he’s scored and assisted – a lot of competition for places now, so it’s great for the team.”

A win in Huddersfield would be five on the bounce for Bournemouth, in stark contrast to their opponents who are winless in their last four and have won only two games since the beginning of the new year.

According to gaffer Carlos Corberan, Alex Vallejo is the only new injury doubt ahead of the showdown. The Spaniard expressed how important it is for his side that the midfielder recovers and rejoins the side.

“He’s preparing well and when you have this kind of groin problem if you stop it makes it worse. But we know he’s an important player for the team and he needs to recover. That’s going to make him grow – his character, his personality, everything. Now he needs to learn to manage his pain.”

Josh Koroma and Carel Eiting are both back in full training, and are an option for Tuesday but Corberan added they know they will have ‘limited minutes.’

Rolando Aarons is close to playing, but Harry Toffolo is further down in his recovery due to him not being able to partake in squad training yet.

A win is just as important for the Terriers as it is for the Cherries – with the prospect of Championship survival being all but secured for the 19th placed side with a rare victory in West Yorkshire.
