Russell Martin’s men welcome second place Bournemouth to the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday night as they look to add to their recent run of eight games unbeaten.

Swansea are currently in one of their best spells under Martin in his first season at the club and are still jubilant from completing the double against Cardiff for the first time at the start of this month.

In a week where Swansea’s playoff bid mathematically will likely officially end, there is not quite little to play for in the mid-table. The main emphasis in this game will be put on Bournemouth though, as they attempt to solidify their push into automatic promotion.

Bournemouth seek seven points in their remaining four games in order to make it mathematically impossible for anyone to take second place away from them.

Swansea will be feeling positive going into the game though as a run of two losses in Bournemouth’s last five away games means there is a way past them. That along with the fact that the home side are unbeaten in four games at home only brings confidence.

The main area that the home side will be looking to exploit is possession. On average there is a seven percent swing in Swansea’s favour so being able to continue to hold the ball and keep it out of Bournemouth’s grasp for an extended period of time will be key.

The addition of Jamie Patterson back into squad will only boost their hopes as with 18 goal contributions this season he is a vital member of the squad.

A win would be a massive boost for the Swans as it would push them above West Brom and Stoke. Momentum will be key after this game as a win would only stop them from going ninth through goal difference, compared to the fourteenth spot they currently hold.

Swansea’s season has definitely picked up again in recent weeks, and a win on Tuesday night could be the difference between a solid season and a slightly disappointing one.

Despite having to play two of the top four in their last three games of the season, Swansea certainly have the opportunity to have a great finish to the campaign.

Starting with a home game against a nervous away from home Bournemouth, a memorable end of the season push could be right around the corner.
