Marco Silva has been sacked as manager of Everton after the Toffees’ poor early season form.
The 42-year-old had been under pressure to keep his helm at Goodison Park with the board finally deciding to terminate the Portuguese manager’s contract following yesterday’s 5-2 Merseyside Derby defeat to Liverpool.
Silva took over the club in May 2018 and managed Everton 61 times, managing to win and lose 25 times whilst drawing on 11 occasions.
Everton currently sit in the 18th in the Premier League having registered just 14 points from their opening 15 fixtures.
Duncan Ferguson is set to take temporary charge of first team affairs and will manage the team against Chelsea on Sunday.
