FOXBOROUGH, MA— The New England Revolution II (4-3-15, 17 pts.) were defeated 2-1 versus Carolina Core FC (7-6-3, 32 pts.) on Saturday afternoon.

The team started their lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation with goalkeeper JD Gunn starting in the net with a backline of (left back) Malcolm Fry, (center backs) Eric Klein and Sage Kinner along with (right back) Colby Quiñones. The defensive midfield roles were manned by Patrick Leal (left), JaVaun Mussenden (right). The advanced midfielder roles were manned by Joshua Bolma (left), Jack Panayotou (central) and Alex Monis (right). Marcos Dias started the match as the lone striker.

The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle and building out of the back to begin the match.
In the 8th minute, Revolution II defender Javaun Mussenden was issued a yellow card.

Midfielder Jack Panayotou slid the ball forward to find forward Alex Monis for the 1v1 finish to make it 1-0 to New England.
In the 2oth minute, Revolution II defender Javaun Mussenden was issued a second yellow card. New England would play the remaining 70 minutes with 10-men.

Following a cross to the right flank by #68 Ozzie Ramos, the ball fell for midfielder #21 Derek Cuevas, who headed down the right flank for forward #24 Facundo Canete to unleash a close-range right-footed strike past JD Gunn to level the scoreline 1-1.
In the 90th minute, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his final two changes by replacing Colby Quinones and Malcolm Fry with DaMario McIntosh & Moshtaba Alhasnawi.
