A number of England’s World Cup winners have been restored for this summer’s rescheduled Hundred after the first edition was put back a year because of Covid-19.

Openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow have been kept on by the Oval Invincibles and Welsh Fire respectively but Bairstow loss his central contract from England which meant if selected, a franchise would pay his salary which is exactly what has happened with the Yorkshireman.

Several other England stars including Jofra Archer (Southern Brave), Ben Stokes (Northern Superchargers) and limited overs captain Eoin Morgan (London Spirit) will all remain in the competition due to having a central contract from the ECB.

Dawid Malan will remain at the Trent Rockets but due to his form in T20 cricket, he has been able to get a higher fee after originally being signed for £40,000.

The tournament will include eight city-based teams around the UK at locations including, Birmingham, Manchester and London.

Fixtures for the tournament are set to be released in the next couple of weeks.
