Queens Park Rangers have announced that Loftus Road will be renamed The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium from next season.
The ground is being renamed in honour of former academy player Kiyan Prince, who lost his life in 2006 trying to break up a fight outside his school at just 15.
His father, Mark, set up the Kiyan Prince Foundation to educate youth on the dangers of knife crimes.
Mark Prince announced the stadium announcement over Twitter:
⚠️ Attention, #QPR fans! @markno1prince has an important stadium announcement for you …#ChooseLRCharity

QPR had announced their intention to rename the stadium after a charity in April and, after nominations flooded in, R’s fans decided that the Kiyan Prince Foundation would replace the Loftus Road name with 63 per cent of the vote.
Mark expressed his pride at the decision:
“Kiyan was a very special young man. We hear many stories about his kindness and good nature so to have the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium at a place where his skills were honed is a dream come true.”
