Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has denied reports linking him with a £3.6 billion takeover of Manchester United.
The Saudi Crown Prince denied the speculation through his media minister, Turki al-Shabanah. He said:
“Reports claiming that HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman intends on buying Manchester United are completely false.
“Manchester United held a meeting with PIF [Public Investment Fund] Saudi to discuss a sponsorship opportunity. No deal has materialised.”
In October, United withdrew from an investment forum in Saudi Arabia amid the fallout of the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi embassy last year.
Reports suggest the Glazers have no interest in selling the club they purchased in May 2005 for £790 million.
The Red Devils recently released their latest financial reports and were shown to post a record revenue of £208.6 million for the second quarter of 2018.
