Huddersfield Town 0 : 0 Cardiff City
By Ryan Conway
Both Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City are still searching for their first wins of the season after playing out a 0-0 draw at the John Smith’s Stadium. Town manager David Wagner spoke of how pleased he was with is side’s passion and fight after being reduced to ten men and admitted under the circumstances a point was a good result.
Neil Warnock felt his team had more to give in the second half saying post-match,
“We were a lot more positive in the second half,” said the former Huddersfield manager, “I didn’t think Huddersfield could do any better and I thought we could, I thought we could do miles better. And we played a lot better”
For Cardiff it is another goalless stalemate as the search for a first Premier League win this season goes on. Their next three league fixtures are unfavourable as they play Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.
For Wagner, his attention turns to Stoke City in the Carabao Cup on Tuseday but the return of Aaron Mooy to his midfield was very much welcomed as the Australian dictated the game for large spells.
Terriers captain Johnathan Hogg was given a straight red just after the hour mark for a clash with Bluebirds midfielder Harry Arter as the pair got physical at a Cardiff corner.
Cardiff could have won the game late on as ex-Huddersfield striker Danny Ward and Sean Morrison both had excellent chances to grab a victory.
