MLS Commissioner Don Garber looked very relaxed as he answered journalist questions before San Diego’s home opener with St Louis City.
Many of the questions were familar to him and he answered inquries about whether expansion weakens the depth of the player pool as he always did when asked before. He pointed out that soccer is a global game and MLS is not just reliant on US and Canadian players.
Other subjects included San Diego’s ‘Right to Dream’ Academy, relations with Mexico and the rest of Latin America and further expansion.
He also addressed the long history of Mexican starts in MLS noting greats like Jorge Campos, Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Carlos Vela and Chicharito before turning his attention to Chucky Lozano who was about to perform that night.
