FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution have signed Mali international center back Mamadou Fofana from Amiens SC of the Ligue 2 BKT.
He will occupy a senior roster slot and an international roster slot.
Mamadou “Nojo” Fofana is a 26-year-old, 6’2, 165lb defender from Bamako, Mali.
At the club level, Fofana has played 238 career games (19,010 minutes) across Turkey & France. Fofana began his career with Turkish side Alanyaspor Kulübü (2017-18). He was sent on loan once Bandırmaspor (2017). Following the end of his stint in Turkey, Fofana joined Ligue 1 side Football Club de Metz (2018-21). He then signed for Amiens Sporting Club (2021-2024) on a five-year contract.
Internationally, Fofana has made 55 appearances (3,635 minutes) for the Mali National Team. He appeared in the 2018 World Cup and 5 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, & 2024).
In total career numbers, the defender has contributed 2 career goals, 2 assists, along with 32 yellow cards and 1 red card.

Early Monday morning, Tom Bogert of GiveMeSport had reported that the New England Revolution had signed Mamadou Fofana for a fee of $1,700,000.
Sources close to me confirmed the deal just hours later.
