Canada 5-Dominica 0
For the Canadian Men’s National Team the kids are alright. On Tuesday night at BMO Field, Canada’s youth movement was on full display as they defeated Dominica 5-0 in CONCACAF Nations League play.
Jonathan David (3′), Junior Hoilett (14′), Lucas Cavallini (18′), and Cyle Larin (81′) supplied Canada with four of their five goals with Dominica’s Malcolm Joseph netting an own goal in the 46th for the other. Canada goalkeeper Alessandro Busti made his debut for the side, earning his first clean sheet in the process. Busti is a Juventus youth league player who is a dual national for Canada and Italy.
He wasn’t the only recent addition for Canada making an impact in the match. Tuesday’s fixture also featured the debut of Ballou Jean Yves Tabla, who plays for Barcelona B. The former Montreal Impact academy product played 36 minutes in his debut, getting one shot off. He was originally being courted by both Canada and Cote D’Ivoire but Tuesday’s match means he will be part of The Canucks for the future.
