Forbes Magazine has released its list of the most valuable sports clubs in the world.

Once again, EPL side Manchester United top the table.

Forbes estimates that the Old Trafford Reds are worth $2.2 billion, more than second place side Real Madrid at a mere $1.88 billion a full 19% less.

After football’s one/two finish, American franchises begin to fill up the table.

According to the Forbes list, all 32 NFL teams made the top 50, but only five more football clubs; Barcelona (8), Arsenal (10), Bayern Munich (11), AC Milan (27) and Chelsea (45) with a value of $761m.

The astronaut rugby franchises were led by the Dallas Cowboys, worth $1.85 billion, tied with the baseball club New York Yankees for third overall.

The Seattle Seahawks are 25th at $997m. This secured them the honour of being the 16th most valuable franchise in the NFL, five whole paces above where they actually finished in the league.

The Cowboys are the top side in the NFL thanks to their $1.2 billion stadium, which generates more than $100 million annually from premium seating and nearly $60 million from sponsors like AT&T, Bank of America, Ford Motor and PepsiCo.

Major League Baseball also provided seven teams on the list led by the New York Yankees.
