FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution (1-1-3, 4 pts) were victorious 2-1 over New York Red Bulls (2-2-2, 8 pts) on Saturday Afternoon.
The match kicked off at 2:30 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium to a crowd of 20,000.

The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle and decided to build out of the match to begin the match.
New England’s first chance came in the 5th minute when Ignatius Ganago’s cross into the box was met with a diving stop by Carlos Coronel.
Less than a minute later, Carles Gil had a chance of his own where it was met with yet another stop by goalkeeper Carlos Coronel.
Red Bulls’ first chance of the match came in the 17th minute when Emil Forsberg’s free kick attempt went just over the crossbar.
Daniel Edelman had a chance of his own in the 21st minute when his deflected shot was saved by Aljaž Ivačič.
Entering the 26th minute, New England took the lead.

Carles Gil’s left-footed free kick went directly into the top left corner to make it 1-0 to New England.
New England had yet another amazing chance in the 30th minute when Ignatius Ganago’s shot was saved, struck the post and crossbar, then was cleared.
In the 33rd minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter was forced to make his first change by replacing injured Wyatt Omsberg with Tanner Beason.
New England had a massive chance to add to their lead when midfielder Carles Gil found forward Luca Langoni on the left flank. He beat his man and then slid the ball centrally for another shot by Ignatius Ganago that was met with a spectacular save by Carlos Coronel.

Midfielder Emil Forsberg found Peter Stroud and then found Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for the finish into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.
After 45+3 minutes, the match entered halftime level at 1-1.

Prior to the start of the second, RBNY head coach Sandro Schwarz made his first change of the match by replacing Alexander Hack with Serge Ngoma.
The second half kicked off with New York starting from the center circle. They elected to move the ball swiftly down New England’s right-flank.
In the 49th minute, RBNY defender Sean Nealis was issued a yellow card for fouling Peyton Miller.
In the 51st minute, Revolution midfielder Luca Langoni (delaying a restart) & defender Ilay Feingold (foul on Daniel Edelman) were both issued yellow cards.
New England’s first major chance came from a free kick from Carles Gil that fell for Maxi Urruti, however, his effort went high over the net.

In the 64th minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his second change of the match by replacing Peyton Miller with Will Sands.
Entering the 66th minute, New England were given a penalty kick, however, the play was called back due to Ganago dribbling out of bounds.
Following the call, RBNY head coach Sandro Schwarz made his second & third change of the match by replacing Peter Stroud & Wikelman Carmona with Ronald Donkor & Mohammed Sofo.
New England’s next chance came in the 72nd minute when a cross by Ilay Feingold found the head of Will Sands and fell for Ignatius Ganago. His side-volley attempt was blocked.
RBNY’s first chance came in the 73rd minute when midfielder Emil Forsberg found midfielder Mohammed Sofo on the left flank. His shot was met with a great save by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič.

In the 75th minute, Revolution defender Will Sands was issued a yellow card for fouling Serge Ngoma.
Less than one minute later, RBNY had another chance when Serge Ngoma’s effort was blocked away for a corner kick.
In the 84th minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his third change of the match by replacing Maxi Urruti with Luis Diaz.
Less than a minute later, RBNY had an amazing chance Mohammed Sofo’s effort was met with a save by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič out for a corner kick.

Serge Ngoma had yet another chance to score in the 86th minute when his effort from outside the box went just wide.
In the 88th minute, RBNY defender Noah Eile was issued a yellow card for a foul on Luis Diaz.
The ensuing free kick taken by Carles Gil found the head of Tanner Beason and was saved by Carlos Coronel.
Entering the 93rd minute, New England were awarded a penalty kick.

Carles Gil stepped up and buried his penalty kick into the bottom left corner to make it 2-1 to New England.
Following the goal, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his final change of the match by replacing Luca Langoni with Keegan Hughes. This is Hughes’ MLS debut.
In the 90+9 minute, RBNY midfielder Raheem Edwards was issued a yellow card.
After 90+10 minutes, the match concluded with New England winning the match 2-1.
