SMITHFIELD, RI– Rhode Island FC have re-signed midfielders Amos Shapiro-Thompson, Isaac Angking, & Kevin Vang for the 2025 USL Championship campaign.

The trio return to Rhode Island FC after assisting the team to an appearance in the 2024 USL Championship title game during the 2024 campaign.

Amos Shapiro-Thompson is a 24-year-old, 5’8, 161lb, midfielder from Worthington, Massachusetts.

At the club level, Shapiro-Thompson has appeared in 62 career games (3,484 minutes) across Poland & the United States. Shapiro-Thompson began his career with the Legia Warsaw II (2018-19).  At the end of his time in Poland, Shapiro-Thompson enrolled to play collegiate soccer at Boston College (2019-22). During his time at BC, he played matches for Western Mass Pioneers (2021). In 2023, Shapiro-Thompson was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls (2023). At the end of his stint with RBNY, he signed with RIFC (2024).

Internationally, Shapiro-Thompson has a handful of USYNT call-ups.

In career numbers, Shapiro-Thompson has tallied 3 goals and registered 3 assists along with 5 yellow cards and 1 red card.

Isaac Angking is a 24-year-old, 5’10, 161lb, midfielder from Providence, Rhode Island.

At the club level, Angking has appeared in 36 career games (1,798 minutes) across the United States. Angking began his career with the New England Revolution (2018-20) becoming the club’s fourth homegrown player to rise to the senior level. During his time in New England, Angking was sent on two loans to USL Championship side Hartford Athletic (2019) and USL League One side Charlotte Independence (2019). While with New England, he mainly appeared for the Revolution II in the USL League One. Upon his release in 2020, Angking was club less from 2020-22, until he joined the Columbus Crew 2 of the MLS NEXT Pro. While there, he helped assist Columbus to the MLS NEXT Pro title.

Internationally, Angking has 14 youth appearances for the United States Youth National Team (2017-18). In December of 2020, Angking began representing Puerto Rico (2021-present), where he has made 7 international appearances since 2021. During that time, he has scored 4 goals.

In career numbers, Angking has tallied 7 goals and registered 3 assists along with 3 yellow cards and 0 red cards.

He was Rhode Island FC’s 24th all-time acquisition.

Kevin Vang is a 24-year-old, 5’5, 145lb, midfielder from Providence, Rhode Island.

At the club level, Vang has appeared in 3 career games (94 professional minutes) in the United States. Vang was a member of the New England Revolution Academy & served as his team’s captain prior to joining Providence College (2018-22). In 2024, Vang joined Rhode Island FC (2024).

In career numbers, Vang has tallied 0 goals and registered 0 assists.
