FOXBOROUGH, MA –New England Revolution (13-4-8, 43 pts.) battled to 4-2 victory over Orlando City SC (8-4-11, 28 pts.) on Sunday evening.
The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium to a crowd of 26,100.

Orlando started the match on the front foot, quickly advancing the ball and applying pressure in New England’s defensive third.
Dor Turgeman produced the first opportunity of the match in the seventh minute, firing an effort from outside the box high over the crossbar.
New England threatened again four minutes later when Peyton Miller connected with a half-volley that narrowly sailed over the bar.
In the 14th minute, Revolution midfielder Brooklyn Raines was shown a yellow card following a hard challenge on Justin Ellis.
Despite Orlando’s early pressure, New England broke the deadlock in the 19th minute.

Following a left-footed strike from Carles Gil that deflected off the leg of David Brekalo, the ball looped over goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and into the back of the net to give New England a 1-0 lead.
Orlando looked for an immediate response in the 22nd minute when Martín Ojeda fired a left-footed effort from outside the box, forcing Matt Turner into a diving save.
Gil nearly doubled New England’s advantage two minutes later, sending an effort just over the crossbar.
Orlando threatened again in the 28th minute when Marco Pašalić tested Turner with a left-footed strike, but the Revolution goalkeeper was equal to the effort.
Dor Turgeman had a massive opportunity to extend New England’s lead in the 35th minute, but his right-footed effort from inside the six-yard box narrowly missed the post.

Less than a minute later, Carles Gil had a massive opportunity to double New England’s advantage, but his close-range effort was deflected behind for a corner kick.
Dor Turgeman continued to threaten as the first half progressed, forcing Maxime Crépeau into a save with a left-footed effort.
Jackson Yueill had the next opportunity for New England in the 43rd minute, but his right-footed strike from roughly 25 yards out sailed high and wide of the net.
Following three minutes of first-half stoppage time, New England entered the halftime break holding a 1-0 advantage.

Prior to the start of the second half, Orlando City SC head coach Martín Perelman made his first change of the match, replacing Luis Otávio with Eduard Atuesta.
New England opened the second half on the front foot, quickly advancing the ball and applying pressure through Orlando’s midfield.
Brooklyn Raines produced the first opportunity of the half, sending a right-footed effort from outside the box just wide of the net.
In the 47th minute, Revolution defender Will Sands was shown a yellow card for a foul on Justin Ellis.
Less than a minute later, Martín Ojeda looked to respond for Orlando, but his effort toward goal was blocked and cleared by the New England defense.
David Brekalo had the next opportunity for Orlando, firing an effort from roughly 35 yards out high over the crossbar.

New England doubled its advantage when defender Ethan Kohler won possession and found Dor Turgeman, who turned before playing the ball into space for Peyton Miller. The 18-year-old raced onto the pass and finished past Maxime Crépeau in the one-on-one to give the Revolution a 2-0 lead.
Orlando’s next opportunity came in the 60th minute when Eduard Atuesta directed an effort toward goal, but Matt Turner was there to make the save.
Two minutes later, Orlando pulled one back.

Marco Pašalić won possession before finding Justin Ellis, who played the ball into the penalty area. Ellis’ pass deflected off Will Sands and fell into the path of Iván Angulo, who converted from close range to cut New England’s lead to 2-1.
Mamadou Fofana had the next opportunity for New England in the 69th minute, but his effort sailed high over the crossbar.
Both sides made changes in the 70th minute. Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his first substitution of the match, replacing Jackson Yueill with Ilay Feingold, while Orlando City head coach Martin Perelman responded with his second change, bringing on Daryl Dike for Marco Pašalić.
Dor Turgeman had a golden opportunity to restore New England’s two-goal advantage in the 73rd minute when he met a delivery from Feingold inside the penalty area, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
Two minutes later, Peyton Miller threatened for the Revolution after Will Sands played the ball into the box. Miller connected with the delivery, but his effort was deflected behind for a corner kick.

Ilay Feingold had the next chance when his effort from atop the box after the corner kick was met with a diving save by goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau.
Peyton Miller had the next chance for New England in the 79th minute when his effort from long distance was met with a save by Maxime Crepeau.
In the 80th minute, Revolution defender Ilay Feingold was issued a yellow card for a foul on Tyrese Spicer.
Entering the 86th minute, Orlando was awarded a controversial penalty kick after the ball allegedly struck the hand of Peyton Miller. Following the decision, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović was issued a yellow card for dissent.

Martín Ojeda stepped up and converted the ensuing penalty kick past goalkeeper Matt Turner to level the match at 2-2.
Following the equalizer, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his third change of the match, replacing Dániel Gazdag with Diego Fagúndez.
In the 90+3 minute, New England responded by retaking the lead.

Midfielder Diego Fagúndez played a through ball into the path of Peyton Miller, who broke in behind the Orlando defense and finished for his second goal of the match to give New England a 3-2 lead.
In the 90+5th minute, Orlando City head coach Martin Perelman made his final change of the match, replacing Jordan Gerbet with Tiago Souza.

Midfielder Brooklyn Raines found Dor Turgeman, who then played the ball to Carles Gil. The Revolution captain converted for his second goal of the match to extend New England’s lead.
Following the goal, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his final changes of the match, bringing on Wilson Harris and Joshua Wynder.
After 10 minutes of second-half stoppage time, the final whistle sounded as New England held on for the victory.
