Brentford look to upset another Premier League side as they host Leicester City in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup

Brentford host Leicester City in the FA Cup Fourth Round looking to cause an upset to the Premier League side.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are flying high in the Premier League and will be full of confidence after defeating Chelsea 2-0 in midweek to go third in the table and two points off top spot.

Brentford are unbeaten in their last 16 Championship games after a 1-0 win against Luton and are now third in the table. Promotion is also a priority for Thomas Frank whose team came close last season but were knocked out by Fulham in the Play-Off final.

The Foxes have the second best away record in the Premier League and unbeaten in their last six, winning four and drawing two. During that run, the Foxes beat Stoke City 4-0 to advance into the Fourth Round of the competition.

Frank’s side claimed victory against Middlesbrough in the previous round to reach this stage, having also made it to the Semi-Final of the Carabao Cup but were knocked out by Premier League side Tottenham, which was there first defeat in 19 games.

The Bees will go into this game full of confidence having already defeated Premier League sides Southampton, West Brom, Fulham and Newcastle this season.

The West London side have never won the FA Cup and will look to prove the critics wrong, with the club’s furthest achievement being the Quarter-Final. The Foxes have been to four FA Cup finals but have never won and will hope that they can win some silverware this season.

Leicester City have progressed from all four of their FA Cup ties against Brentford and haven’t lost in their last seven meetings in all competitions, drawing one and beating the Bees on six occasions. The two sides met at Griffin Park in the FA Cup last season with the Foxes coming out on top with a narrow 1-0 victory.

Both managers look to make a few changes. Brentford fielded a weakened team against Boro and could do the same to keep players fit and ready for the title race.

The Foxes were without key players of Vardy and Maddison against the Potters but had too much quality on the pitch to see off the Championship side.

Leicester City will be without Jamie Vardy who will undertake a minor operation on his hernia and will be out for a few weeks, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed. Ayoze Perez or Kelechi Iheanacho are set to replace the striker.

Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu are likely to start following their return from long-term injuries, but the Foxes are still without Dennis Praet and Wes Morgan who are both unavailable.

Brentford will be without top scorer Ivan Toney who will be a big miss following his red card again Luton during midweek. The striker has scored 16 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions this season. Tariqe Fosu-Henry could come into the side to replace him.
