Youssoufa Moukoko has stolen the headlines of late with the teenager breaking all sorts of records across Germany and in Europe.

Moukoko became the Bundesliga’s youngest-ever goalscorer on Friday as he netted a thunderous strike against Union Berlin. The 16-year-old wheeled away in celebration as he smashed the ball into the top corner in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 loss in Berlin.

Although the teenager has just broken into the first team, this is not the first time people have stood up to take notice of him. The German’s first team breakthrough was long awaited as his list of achievements at youth level goes on and on.

Moukoko scored an astonishing 141 goals in only 88 games at youth level, whilst also racking up 27 assists. As well as boasting an immense goal tally, the wonder boy was put into an extraordinary situation earlier this season when he captained the under 19’s Dortmund side, at the age of only 15 years old.

Moukoko also became the youngest player to ever play in the Champions League when he featured for Dortmund against Lazio earlier this season, overtaking previous long-term record holder of former Chelsea player Céléstine Babayaro by 69 days.

The forward has also shown his maturity off the pitch in the past as well, as he was sadly targeted by racist abuse in a 3-2 win against Schalke in October. The starlet received the abuse as he scored his third of the game in the derby day and hit back at Schalke fans after the game with an Instagram post captioned “I am proud to be born with this skin colour and will always be proud.”

Borussia Dortmund have been struggling in the league recently and with just one win in their last five games the yellow’s will be looking for new ideas to freshen up the team. This combined with star striker Erling Haaland picking up a short-term injury means that Moukoko can be expected to be seen shining again in the Bundesliga over the Christmas period.
