We witnessed three thrilling races at the Bahrain International Circuit as the Formula 2 drivers delivered with plenty of twists and turns in what is set to be another fantastic season.
Guanyu Zhou was able to convert his pole position into a Feature race victory, the first time that has happened for UNI-Virtuosi. Dan Ticktum picked up second place with Liam Lawson rounding off the podium in third.
Oscar Piastri becomes the second F2 rookie to win this season as the Aussie driver beats Guanyu Zhou as Jehan Daruvala inherited third place after Christian Lundgaard’s penalty.
The Kiwi secured his maiden F2 victory after a difficult battle with Jehan Daruvala which saw the Indian finish second and David Beckmann complete the podium in third.
Christian Lundgaard did not ‘expect to be in the top three’ as the Dane qualified second with Guanyu Zhou pole position and Felipe Drugovich in third for Sunday’s Feature Race.
The Chinese driver will lineup in first on Sunday’s Feature Race alongside Christian Lundgaard in second and UNI-Virtuosi teammate Felipe Drugovich in third.
The Bahrain International Circuit welcomes back the F2 drivers as they take to the track with two Sprint Races and one Feature Race in store this weekend.
