Bournemouth have strengthened their coaching staff with the addition of former England international Jonathan Woodgate until the end of the season.

This all comes after Graeme Jones departed the club for Newcastle United last week and offers the Cherries great experience having already managed in the league, last season at Middlesbrough where they finished 17th.

The 41-year-old will help to get the Cherries back on track following three consecutive league defeats against Reading, Derby County and Luton Town in recent weeks, with Boro’ just two points behind Jason Tindall’s side.

Woodgate has also previously been assistant manager at Middlesbrough under Tony Pulis and Steve Agnew, whilst he also worked for the club’s academy before.

He has already joined in with training and will be part of the coaching team for tomorrow evening’s crucial clash against Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday at the Vitality Stadium.
