FC Dallas 1-0 Seattle Sounders FC
FRISCO, TX–FC Dallas are in the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons after defeating Seattle Sounders FC, 1-0, at Toyota Stadium. It’s a fifth win in seven matches for FCD, while the Sounders see their four-match winning streak snapped.
The Man of the Match was Dallas keeper Daniel who would make seven saves on the evening. One of his key saves came in the 19th minute against Jackson Ragan who got on the end of an Albert Rusnak free kick. He would make another brilliant save on Dejan Joveljic in the 29th minute.
The game’s only goal was also a thing of brilliance. In the 63rd minute, Kaick would one-time the ball from just inside the box and smash it into the net. It would be enough to give Dallas the win and a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Dallas remain third in the Western Conference, one point behind St. Louis and two behind Vancouver–both of those teams drawing each other on Wednesday. Seattle remain seventh, but just two points clear of eighth place LA Galaxy.
FC Dallas travel to Houston next Saturday (7:30pm CT, Apple TV), while Seattle host CF Montreal on Saturday (7:30pm PT, Apple TV).
