Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has been called up to the England squad to face Czech Republic and Montenegro in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Ward-Prowse earned his call-up due to the withdrawals of Fabian Delph and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Manchester City defender John Stones also pulled out of the squad with a groin injury.
The 24-year-old will join the squad on Monday and could add to his only senior cap to date, which he earned in March 2017 in a 1-0 friendly loss to Germany.
The Southampton playmaker has been in impressive form since the turn of the year with all six of his league goals coming in the New Year. He has also scored three goals in his last three matches, including the winner in the Saints’ 2-1 victory over Tottenham.
