Chi-Lights: Swanson announces pregnancy

0

CHICAGO, IL–Eight weeks after announcing she would take a leave from the Chicago Stars for “personal reasons”, striker Mallory Swanson announced that she and her husband Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson are expecting their first child. Swanson had not played in 2025 for the Stars and had not played for US Women’s National Team since the Gold Medal Match at the Paris Olympics.

We at Prost International offer our congratulations to the Swansons in anticipation of their new child.

STARS:  As for the Stars, the mystery about Swanson is no longer so, but will still need how they are going to score goals without Swanson. The Stars deal last in goals scored with just three in seven matches while also allowing the most with 14.

Last week’s match against Gotham did mark an improvement as they got a clean sheet and a much needed point. There is still time to turn things around for the Stars, and getting three points against a Washington Spirit side with Trinity Rodman and Ashley Hatch who is joint-third in the league in scoring will be a huge step in the right direction (11:50am CT, ABC).

HOUNDS:  The Hounds had to grind out a 14-7 win over the Miami Sharks on Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium to keep pace with the Eastern Conference leading New England Free Jacks who defeated Houston, 36-17, on Sunday. Luke White and Dylan Fawsitt scored the tries for the Hounds who came from behind to defeat the Sharks and move to 8-3-0.

The Hounds travel to Quincy, MA to face the Free Jacks for a Sunday matinee. Kickoff is at 3pm CT (WPWR/ESPN+).
