Postecoglou’s second season: All or nothing in Europe

0

Tottenham are on a serious hunt for their first major trophy since 2008. With the club one game away from the Europa League final, Ange Postecoglou will be holding onto his famous saying: “I always win things in my second season.”

Understandably, Spurs fans are frustrated with the club and even more so the players. With a 6.1% increase on already expensive season tickets, the supporters have proven to stick by the team despite this season’s struggles with The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium being essentially full week in week out.

The club are sat two places above the relegation zone and with the outcome of a season relying on continental triumph, in recent weeks frustration has been let loose with Ange repeatedly in arguments with supporters.

Despite being relatively unknown to English supporters, Tottenham’s semi-final opponents FK Bodø/Glimt have knocked down serial competitors in Europe: Porto, Braga, Beşiktaş, Olympiacos, and Lazio. Despite the first leg heading a two goal advantage in Tottenham’s favour, to completely rule out the Norwegian club’s chances would be ignorant.

Star players like, Maddison, Son, Bergvall and Dragusin have all been crucial in the club’s depth in Europe, but are all ruled out. It looks set to be a rainy, arctic circle occasion and FK Bodø/Glimt will be bagging on complacency and individual errors in Ange’s heavily fixated system.
