Final day drama awaits in the Championship

Whilst other leagues are coming to a rapid close, the Championship still has eyes on it, and it’s heading to the final day!

Leeds United will need a victory on the final day to secure the league title of the division having gained promotion weeks ago.

Whereas arguably the most high profile affair will take place at Turf Moor, with Scott Parker’s men needing to win and hope to see Leeds drop points to secure top spot.

Expect an end-to-end match as Play-Off chasing Millwall look to sneak in through the back door as they seek a return to England’s top flight. Essentially the same scenario is likely in Sheffield as Blackburn Rovers will need the teams above to drop points and they themselves will need to break down Chris Wilder’s side who have lost three in the last five meaning they failed to gain automatic promotion.

A game that has little stakes involved is QPR’s trip up north to Sunderland. The Black Cats have secured a chance at promotion and the away side will be playing for pride after they suffered a slow start to the campaign.

Preston could be relegated on the last game of the season having not won any of their last five. But perhaps the shock of the season is Bristol City, who will need to win to secure the chance to be in a competitive play-off round.

Frank Lampard has surprised people with his early days as Coventry boss and has proved to be worthy of a top 6 finish. The team they will face off against is the uneasy task of Middlesbrough. If they manage to beat Boro and if the sides above them drop points, then the table will be turned over.

A crazy season in the Championship is drawing to a close, with several sides still battling it out. High profile sides like Swansea City and West Brom are not involved in this last gameday due to a decline in form. However, for sides who are shockingly in contention, there will be eyes on every match come 12:30pm BST this Saturday.
