Fulham look to be back in business following their 7-0 demolition of Reading, but take on a Bristol City side hoping to continue their rich run of form at Craven Cottage.
The Cottagers remain without a victory against the Robins at home since 1997, losing all five of their meetings since.
Just a week ago, these two sides were battling for a place in the FA Cup Fourth Round. It took extra time to settle the tie as Fulham left Ashton Gate with a 1-0 victory. Welsh winger Harry Wilson, who now has 18 goal involvements in 24 games this season, swung the result in his team’s favour.
Five league games without victory had seen the gap at the top tighten, but Marco Silva’s side smashed seven past the Royals last time out, putting to bed any questions that automatic promotion could be slipping away.
Goals are to be expected at Craven Cottage with visitors Bristol City averaging a hefty 3.36 goals per away match this season so far.
However for Marco Silva’s side, it would appear crucial to score first as they’ve failed to win a league game this term after conceding the opening goal.
Fulham fans will be encouraged heading into the game, with Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring a brace against the Royals last time out stretching his tally to 24 league goals in 23 games.
The 27-year-old looks destined to beat the Championship goalscoring record of 31 goals set by Brentford’s Ivan Toney last campaign, with nearly half of the season still to play.
The Robins have struggled for form in recent times having won just 11 points from the last 30 available. This run has seen them float harmlessly between the play-off places and relegation zone.
Heading into the game, Fulham’s Ivan Cavaleiro is a doubt, while Bristol City duo Nathan Baker and Joe Williams look set to miss the trip to the capital with respective injuries.
