In League One, Ipswich Town begin their new life as a League One side with a trip to the Pirelli Stadium to take on Burton Albion with League Two champions Lincoln City hosting 2017/18 League Two champions Accrington Stanley at Sincil Bank. Furthermore, Bolton begin life back in League One with a 12 point deduction and a trip to Adams Park to take on Wycombe Wanderers with fellow-relegated side Rotherham United beginning their season on the road at AFC Wimbledon.

Coventry City begin their season of groundsharing at Birmingham City’s St Andrews ground with a “home” tie against last day survivors Southend United. League One play-off final losers Sunderland begin their second season in the division by welcoming Oxford United at the Stadium Of Light.

Elsewhere, Doncaster host Gillingham with Portsmouth travelling to Shrewsbury Town.

In League Two, National League champions Leyton Orient welcome Cheltenham Town to Brisbane Road in their first EFL tie since May 2017 on Saturday 3rd August with National League play-off winners Salford City hosting Stevenage in front of the Sky cameras at 12.45pm that same day.

Relegated sides Plymouth Argyle and Walsall begin their journeys in League Two with trips to Crewe Alexandra and Northampton Town whilst Bradford City and Scunthorpe United welcome Cambridge United and Swindon Town.

Last season’s defeated play-off sides in the form of Newport County and Mansfield Town will face each other again on Saturday 3rd August at Rodney Parade.

Stand-Out Fixtures In The EFL Season

In the Championship, the first Welsh derby in five years between Cardiff City and Swansea City takes place at the Liberty Stadium on October 26 whilst Stoke City will see their manager Nathan Jones line up against former side Luton Town for the first time on December 10. Brentford will bid adieu to Griffin Park after 116 years with a final swansong tie against Barnsley on May 2.

League One will see Sunderland travelling to Ipswich Town on August 10 with both being seen as strong favourites for promotion before the Black Cats host the heavyweights of Portsmouth a week later at the Stadium Of Light on August 17. Bolton Wanderers and Bury will lock horns in a local derby on September 7 with both currently facing financial issues off the pitch in recent months.

Over in League Two, the clash between the promoted sides from the National League will take place on August 31 as Salford City welcome Leyton Orient. Orient will have a tough Boxing Day clash as they welcome Colchester United to Brisbane Road with the U’s having been the last side to visit Brisbane Road before Orient’s relegation back in 2017.
