FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution (7-7-11, 28 pts) were victorious 2-0 over D.C. United (4-7-15, 19 pts) on Saturday night.
The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium to a crowd of 30,000.

The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle and swiftly chose to advance the ball into D.C. United’s defensive third.
DC United had the first chance of the match when a header by Christian Benteke went just over the bar in the 3rd minute.
In the 11th minute, D.C. United forward Christian Benteke was issued a yellow card for elbowing defender Mamadou Fofana.
In the 21st minute, D.C. United midfielder Boris Enow was issued a yellow card for fouling midfielder Carles Gil.

New England’s first major chance came in the 30th minute when a corner kick delivery toward Carles Gil in the box was touched towards goal but was ultimately blocked by Ilay Feingold, who was in an offsides position.
D.C. United had a massive chance in the 36th minute when an effort Hosei Kijima on the right flank was met with a low-save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Leo Campana had a massive chance entering the 40th minute when a cross into the area by Carles Gil was headed just wide of the net by forward Leo Campana.
New England had another chance in the 45th minute when Leo Campana had a headed effort that was caught by goalkeeper Joonhong Kim.
After 45+2 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

The second half kicked off with D.C. United starting from the center circle. They played the ball backward to goalkeeper Joonhong Kim who then launched it into New England’s defensive third.
Christian Benteke had the first chance of the second half when a header went just wide of the net in the 48th minute.
Leo Campana had the next chance of the match when a shot on target directly at goalkeeper Joonhong Kim which was initially bobbled and then comfortably claimed in the 56th minute.
In the 59th minute, Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana was issued a yellow card for fouling Christian Benteke.
In the 61st minute, D.C. United head coach René Weiler made his first change of the match by replacing Randall Leal with Jared Stroud.

Midfielder Carles Gil delivered a left-footed ball into the area that was headed home by forward Leo Campana to make it 1-0 to New England.
Following the goal, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his first change of the match by replacing Luca Langoni for Ignatius Ganago.
Gabriel Pirani had a chance to level the scoreline after a poor giveaway in the back by Matt Polster, however, Pirani sent his effort wide of the right post.

Less than a minute later, Jared Stroud had a chance of his own that was met with a diving catch save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Leo Campana had another massive chance to add to the lead in the 67th minute when his left-footed volley went just over the bar.
Entering the 69th minute, New England added to their lead.

Midfielder Carles Gil received the ball at the top of the box and buried it into the bottom right corner to make it 2-0 to New England. With this goal, Carles has surpassed Taylor Twellman for most goal contributions in club history.
In the 74th minute, D.C. United head coach René Weiler made his second and third changes of the match by replacing Gabriel Pirani & Boris Enow for Matti Peltola & Brandon Servania.
Just two minutes later, in the 76th minute, Revolution forward Leo Campana was issued a yellow card for thwarting a counter attack.

In the 80th minute, D.C. United head coach René Weiler made his fourth and fifth changes of the match by replacing Jackson Hopkins & Hosei Kijima with Dominique Badji & Jacob Murrell.
Christian Benteke had another headed effort in the 86th minute that was caught comfortably by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
New England’s next chance came in the 90+1 minute when a freekick by Carles Gil was sent over the bar.
After the 90+5 minutes, the match concluded with New England holding on for the 2-0 victory.

With the result, New England remain in 11th place in the MLS Eastern Conference.
