Malcolm Fry loaned to Rhode Island FC for remainder of 2025 USL Championship season

FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have loaned midfielder Malcolm Fry to Rhode Island FC for the 2025 USL Championship season.

Malcolm Fry (32) trots onto the field to make his MLS debut in July of 2024.

Malcolm Fry is a 19-year-old, 5’9, 146lb midfielder from Akron, Ohio.

Fry joined the New England Revolution Academy in 2019. In March of 2022, he made his New England Revolution II debut. He was a member of the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup Championship team. In October of 2023, Fry signed a Home-Grown Player contract with the New England Revolution. He made his first time debut in July of 2024. He now heads to Rhode Island FC (2025) for the remainder of the season.

In total career numbers, the midfielder has made 62 career appearances (3,692 minutes) where he has registered 11 goals, 9 assists with 7 yellow cards and 0 red cards.

He is eligible to represent the United States at the International level.

Sources confirmed to me late Friday night that the deal would be announced in the coming days.

Fry joins a struggling Rhode Island FC side that currently sits 10th place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference with a 1W-1D-3L record.

Khano Smith and Rhode Island FC (1-1-3, 4 pts.) return to home to face San Antonio FC (5-0-2, 17 pts.). The match will kick off at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Saturday, May 3rd at 4:00PM EST. For more USL Championship content, you can find it on ESPN+

The New England Revolution (4-1-4, 13 pts.) remain on the road to face off against Eastern Conference side Toronto FC (1-4-5, 7 pts). The match is set to kickoff at BMO Field on Saturday, May 3rd at 4:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
