Midfielder Amos Shapiro-Thompson found midfielder Joe Brito on the left flank. He then played a delivery to the back post to find Clay Holstad for the finish

Following a freekick, the ball was poorly cleared and fell kindly for Frank Nodarse for the volley finish to make it 2-0.
In the 45+3 minute, RIFC midfielder Aldair Sanchez was issued a yellow card.

Forward Titus Washington had a shot on the left flank that snuck past Jackson Lee to make it 2-1.
In the 68th minute, Rhode Island head coach Khano Smith made his second change of the match by replacing JJ Williams with Noah Fuson.
In the 72nd minute, Portland head coach Bobby Murphy made his second and third change of the match by replacing Walter Varela & Oliver Wright with Nathaniel James & Evan Southern.
