James Vince was once more the star with the bat as he led the Sydney Sixers to their second consecutive Big Bash crown thanks to a 27-run win over the Perth Scorchers.
The Hampshire man hit a rapid 95 to set the Sixers on their way to a highly competitive 188-6 from their 20 overs.
He received support all through the innings, with several players making it past double figures with Jackson Bird (2-14) the pick of the Scorchers’ bowlers.
Vince was also key in making sure that his side made the final last weekend when he hit an unbeaten 98 against the same and opponents and was in imperious form down under in the final.
Liam Livingstone (45) also impressed with the bat but he didn’t get enough support as his side came up well short in the end to move the Sixers level with the Scorchers on three Big Bash titles.
The Hampshire captain understandably picked up the man of the match award and he will now get himself ready for the domestic county season which kicks off in April.
