Manchester United welcome Sheffield United to Old Trafford on Wednesday with both sides in desperate need of three points.
The Red Devils look to extend their lead at the top of the table whilst the visitors sit bottom of the table with just one win this season.
Both teams look to continue on from their wins in the FA Cup on the weekend. Bruno Fernandes came off the bench to seal the victory for the hosts against rivals Liverpool whilst Sheffield United held on against Plymouth to move into the Fifth Round.
The Blades have struggled for goals, having only found the back of the net ten times in their 19 league games, with five of those goals coming from David McGoldrick who is the team’s leading goal scorer this season.
United have only lost once in their last 13 matches in the Premier League, following on from that win against Fulham in midweek. The league leaders came back from behind to gain all three points at Craven Cottage.
However, Chris Wilder’s men were unable to build on their first win of the season, after a 3-1 defeat against Tottenham. The North London side went 2-0 up in the first half before McGoldrick got one back for the hosts. Minutes later Tanguy Ndombele sealed all three points with a stunning strike past Aaron Ramsdale.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be glad to have the form of Paul Pogba back, following his inconsistent periods during the start of the season. In his last four appearances, the Frenchman has contributed to two goals to help his side to victory against Fulham and Burnley.
The last time the Blades beat Manchester United at Old Trafford was in 1974. Both these sides met earlier in the season at Bramall Lane with the Red Devils coming out on top to win 3-2. That was the only time Sheffield United had scored more than once in the league this season and hoping they can repeat it.
