Team news

West Ham have Ryan Fredericks available again after a ban, but fellow full-back Aaron Cresswell now serves a one-match suspension of his own.

Roberto is expected to continue in goal in the absence of David Martin and Lukasz Fabianski.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers may decide to rest top scorer Jamie Vardy due to the hectic fixture list.

Midfielder Matty James, who has not featured since January because of an Achilles injury, is close to a return.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is demanding an improvement in the home form as the Irons prepare for two important London Stadium fixtures with Leicester City and AFC Bournemouth.

“Of course, that is something we need to try to improve because we have lost too many points at home and have just one from our last five games,” he confirmed.

“We now have to play two games in a row at home and I hope we can start by beating Leicester. It is a difficult game because Leicester is a good team, but I think our team is in a moment where they are not playing bad, but they must be more concentrated in defending.

“It’s very important that we get a win because, while I think our away performances are not bad, our home performances have been very bad. We have just one point from the last 15 so now we have these two home games, I think we have to get a win that is so important.”

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says he trusts in the strength in depth of his Leicester City squad as he prepares to make changes to his starting XI for Saturday’s Premier League trip to West Ham United.

“Yes, just purely for the welfare of the players,” said Rodgers when asked whether he will make changes to his outfit.

“It’s when you see we put so much into tonight physically and we have a massive January coming up for us as a squad and as a team.

“My fear is that we would be risking too many guys getting injured if we’re playing at 5:30pm on Saturday.

“Normally, in a day where your body is recovering, I’m going to need to make those changes.”

Head-to-head

West Ham have won just one of the past nine Premier League meetings (D4, L4). Their 2-0 victory in May 2018 is also the only clean sheet they have kept against the Foxes during that period. Leicester are unbeaten in four Premier League away games against West Ham, having lost seven of their previous eight in the top flight.
