PROST INTERNATIONAL
is the name of the merged sites Prost Amerika (also known as Prost Soccer) and Prost International, an independent soccer website that covers the global game, from an American perspective. Where Prost Amerika extended into Canada and Mexico, Prost International once covered football and more across UK and beyond.
In 2024, the sites merged under the Prost International banner.
Based in Chicago, it has MLS writers around the league.
History
Founded in 2016, Prost Amerika Soccer was an independent soccer website that covers the global game, from an American perspective.
Originally a German language tourism website for the Pacific Northwest, it developed into an English language soccer site to fill a demand from the people of Seattle for more English language coverage of the sport, prior to the arrival of Major League Soccer there in 2009.
From coverage of the USL Sounders, Prost extended to cover Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps while they remained in the minor leagues, increasing its coverage when they joined Seattle in MLS. It soon grew from its Cascadian base.
Seeing a lack of quality independent coverage, journalists and fans in other cities asked to cover their local club on Prost, and so almost organically, we became a site for the entire Western Conference as writers and photographers in LA, San Jose, Salt Lake and Colorado joined the fold. In 2012, writers from Eastern Conference clubs started to apply and the site now has journalists in many of the US Soccer cities, including New York, DC, Columbus, Philadelphia and Boston.
Prost is also committed to international football and the EPL, with many of its newer writers being Europeans and has recently expanded, adding two divisions to the main brand, PROST INTERNATIONAL which extends coverage to Rugby, Cricket and more, and PROST PUBLISHING which focused on limited edition books.
