Red Bull New York 0-1 Nashville SC
HARRISON, NJ–Red Bull New York fell to a late defeat on Wednesday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
Nashville found the winner in stoppage time and the goal came through Maxwell Woledzi who got on the end of Christian Espinoza’s free kick to head in past Ethan Horvath.
Prior to the game, head coach Michael Bradley admitted “Nashville might be the best team in MLS” and the Red Bulls gave them a really tough game.
Julian Hall missed a great chance early on as he raced through on goal, his finish just whistled past the post as he was nudged off balance.
Sam Surridge then had a goal ruled out for offside shortly after and this was a real warning sign for Michael Bradley’s side.
Seventeen year-old Adri Mehmeti notably had a top performance in the middle of the park, creating a number of chances and setting the tempo.

A number of big chances went begging for RBNY with Emil Forsberg and Jorge Ruvalcaba also going close to giving their team the lead.
“The way that we play, the ideas, the way that we step on the field most weekends, the ways that we can push games, the way that we create chances,” said Michael Bradley. “Those things are all going in a good direction.”
The game stayed open all the way until the end and eventually Nashville found the breakthrough.
Maxwell Woledzi provided the dagger to Red Bull hearts when he headed in and gave Nashville the three points when the Red bulls really deserved to take something from the game.
The Red Bulls will face Chicago Fire FC on home soil once again on Saturday night as they look for a turnaround in form.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish.
