Dallas kick off MLS with Toronto victory

FC Dallas kicked off the new MLS Season with a dramatic 3-2 victory over FC Toronto. 

The game possessed parallels to a chess match, but it was the hosts who started strong and took the initiative within the opening ten minutes.

Petar Musa netted the first of his two to hand Dallas the lead, before Toronto and Djorde Mihailovic responded quickly to equalise.

Logan Farrington netted a second for Dallas and the lead was theirs heading into the interval.

The visitors had the lions share of possession in the second half and made it count; Derrick Etienne striking again.

Their ball retention ultimately counted for nothing and with their only shot on target in the second half, it proved to be an important one for Dallas – they snatched the points.

Farrington and Bernard Kamungo’s interchange set up Musa for his second of the game and the crucial one to win Dallas the points.
