The match kicked off with Rhode Island FC starting from the center circle and swiftly advanced the ball into San Antonio’s defensive third

San Antonio had the first chance of the half when a delivery into the area in the 7th minute was caught by goalkeeper Koke Vegas.

Rhode Island’s first major chance came in the 11th minute when Clay Holstad’s volley attempt went just over the crossbar.

Amos Shapiro-Thompson had a chance to score when Jojea Kwizera found him atop the penalty area, however, he met the turf monster and his shot went wide of the net.

Rhode Island had yet another chance to score in the 22nd minute when another shot attempt by Clay Holstad went over the net.

In the 34th minute, San Antonio midfielder Jorge Hernandez was issued a yellow card for fouling Amos Shapiro-Thompson off the ball.

San Antontio’s next chance came in the 37th minute when a bad giveaway by RIFC led to a  shot by Luis Paredes that was met with a spectacular save by goalkeeper Koke Vegas.

In the 45+1 minute, San Antonio midfielder Luis Paredes was issued a yellow card for time wasting.

The second half began with San Antonio starting from the center circle as they chose to build out of the back to start the half.

Maxi Rodriguez had the first chance of the half when his effort in the 48th minute when high and wide over the net.

Rhode Island had another chance in the 54th minute when a free kick taken by Aldair Sanchez was headed on by Grant Stoneman and caught by Richard Sanchez.

In the 59th minute, RIFC head coach Khano Smith made his first change of the match by replacing Joe Brito with Albert Dikwa.

San Antonio had a massive chance in the 61st minute when Jorge Hernandez was denied by Koke Vegas at close range.

In the 65th minute, San Antonio head coach Carlos Llamosa made his first two changes of the match by replacing Alex Greive & Jimmy Medranda with Juan Agudelo & Luke Haakenson.

Maxi Rodriguez had the chance of the match when his header in the 67th minute snuck just wide of the post.

Rhode Island’s next chance came in the 78th minute when a free kick taken by Aldair Sanchez was saved by goalkeeper Richard Sanchez.

In the 79th minute, RIFC head coach Khano Smith made his second change of the match by replacing Amos Shapiro-Thompson with Taimu Okiyoshi.

Maxi Rodriguez had yet another amazing opportunity when he sent a right-footed shot wide of the net.

Noah Fuson had a chance in the 85th minute when his effort was met with a routine save by Richard Sanchez.

Albert Dikwa had an amazing chance in the 90+1 minute when his header went just wide of the post.
