FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have acquired defender/midfielder Will Sands and $600,000 in General Allocation Money via trade with Columbus Crew for DeJuan Jones.

Will Sands is a 24-year-old, 6’1, 150lb defender from Rye, New York.
At the club level, Sands has played 33 career games (1,980 minutes) across the United States with USL League Two side Manhattan FC (2021) & with the Columbus Crew (2022-2024), for both their MLS & MLS NEXT Pro squads. New England is his third professional club.
Internationally, Sands has never appeared for the United States Men’s National Team.
In total career numbers, the defender has contributed 0 career goals, 4 assists, along with 4 yellow cards and 0 red card.
He won the 2023 MLS Cup with Columbus Crew.
He is the twin brother of James Sands, of the United States Men’s National Team & New York City FC.
DeJuan Jones, 27, was drafted by the New England Revolution 11th Overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.
His New England career ends with 165 games played (13,165 minutes) with 6 goals, 19 assists and 13 yellow cards.
He won the 2021 Supporter’s Shield with New England.
In his international career, he has made 8 appearances with the United States Men’s National Team.
The Secondary MLS Transfer Window is opens and runs until Wednesday, August 14th.
