Current Women’s Rugby Challenge Cup holders St Helens will face the winner of Sunday’s tie between Featherstone Rovers and Wigan Warriors in the semi-final.

Saints eased past Huddersfield 24-0 to confirm their place in the last four and continue their march to retain the much coveted Challenge Cup.

Meanwhile, last year’s beaten finalists York’s demolition of Oulton 92-2 has set up a semi-final meeting with Leeds, who brushed aside Warrington 40-0 in their quarter-final.

The superb Tara Stanley scored four tries for York against the only non-Super League side left in the competition.

The 2022 Women’s Challenge Cup (also known as the 2022 Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup) is the 10th staging of the Rugby Football League’s cup competition for women’s rugby league clubs.

The competition has a different format from previous years. Instead of being a straight knockout tournament, the first stages were played using a single round-robin format with the top two teams from four groups advancing to the quarter-final stage, at which point knockout format will be resumed.

Entry was limited to the 12 teams of the Women’s Super League plus three Championship teams; Hull FC, Oulton Raidettes and Widnes Vikings; together with the Army women’s team.

Each team was seeded into one of four pots with one team from each pot being drawn into each group.

Both semi-finals will take place at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium on the 24th of April and will be screened live via the BBC’s red button as they continue their support for the women’s game.

Sky Sports will also be broadcasting more coverage than ever before of the Betfred Women’s Super League in 2022, including two live regular-season matches as well as the semi-finals and Grand Final.

The final of the competition will be at Leeds United’s, Elland Road and is part of a triple-header which includes the two men’s semi-finals which take place on the 7th of May.
