It’s an essential transfer window for Jack Clarke, he’s attracted the attention of many Championship clubs but it is important that he makes the right decision this January.
After bursting out the blocks as an 18-year-old, Jack Clarke got a dream move to one of the Premier League’s top clubs in Tottenham Hotspur. The young winger is now 20-years-old and still vastly inexperienced after being given very little game time in Jose Mourinho’s side.
With the likes of Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and even Erik Lamela ahead of Clarke in the ranks, a loan move could be the best move to help aid the Englishman’s progression within the game.
The former Leeds youngster made his debut for Tottenham against LASK in a 3-0 win in the Europa League, this was his first senior appearance since making his move from Leeds United in January 2019.
Clarke has since made one further appearance for Tottenham despite looking bright throughout pre-season as well as emerging as a fan favourite from his time with the U23’s.
The England U21 international kicked off his professional career in fashion as he worked his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s setup at Leeds United, impressing on many occasions especially in an unlikely turn around against Aston Villa.
Clarke was subbed on at half-time and after just ten minutes he had scored before claiming ‘Man of the Match’ for the first-ever time restoring the manager’s faith he had put in him.
This scintillating performance caught the eye of many Premier League clubs with Tottenham taking the risk and paying a rumoured £10 million for the player in January 2019.
Just a year on from his move, he was shipped out to Queen’s Park Rangers in the Championship in the bid to gain more first-team exposure.
Mark Warburton’s side had several hot prospects themselves during this time with Eberechi Eze, Ilias Chair and Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead in the pecking order as Clarke was limited to substitution appearances at QPR in what was deemed a poor loan move.
Now that the January transfer window is open, it is key that Clarke can find the right loan in the Championship. He has shown on many occasions the talent that he possesses.
