Alex Gorrin-shaped hole costs Oxford dearly in Portsmouth defeat

Oxford United missed the chance to put even greater pressure on the top six in League One after falling to defeat against Portsmouth in a tight game at the Kassam Stadium. Midfield anchor Alex Gorrin may well have been in position to prevent the only goal of the game had he been on the pitch, but reconfiguring an engine room that appears to have lost it’s way in recent games will be important heading into a testing month of fixtures.
