Olger Escobar traded to CF Montréal

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution have traded forward Olger Escobar to CF Montréal for $125,000 in General Allocation Money.

New England retains a future sell-0n percentage.

Olger Escobar is an 18-year-old, 5’10, 165lb forward from Boston, Massachusetts.

Escobar is a product of the New England Revolution Academy.  He began his career with New England Revolution II where he has played 238 career games (1,251 minutes). He was named New England Revolution MLS NEXT Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season. He now joins MLS side CF Montreal.

Internationally, Escobar represents the Guatemala National Team where he has 7 senior appearances with 1 goal & 2 assists.

In total career numbers, the forward has contributed 1 career goal, 1 assist, along with 6 yellow cards.

Early Thursday morning, both New England & CF Montreal confirmed the deal

New England also announced that they would retain a portion of his salary & retain a percentage of any future sell-on fee.

Escobar, 18, departs New England after 4 seasons across their Academy & Revolution II levels.

The New England Revolution (3-1-4, 10 pts.) are on the road to face off against Eastern Conference side Charlotte FC (6-1-2, 19 pts). The match is set to kickoff at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, April 26th at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
