Monchengladbach pursue Champions League place as they visit Werder Bremen

Borussia Monchengladbach will be trying to rebound from a loss against Bayer Leverkusen as they pay a visit to Werder Bremen at the Weser Stadium, on Tuesday at 7:30pm GMT, who will be enjoying the return of numerous players.

Monchengladbach remain in the pursuit of a Champions League spot as they sit in the fifth position with 52 points, making them a point away from the prestigious European competition. Monchengladbach have impressed under Rose, winning 16 games this, drawing four and losing seven.

Concerning his coming opponents, the Prussians boss made sure he was not going to let their position be of any reason to behave differently, he stated:

‘’With Bremen, you have a side that is fighting against relegation with everything it has. The Werder players have shown courage, and will demand that we put in a top performance against them. Bremen have a good team that have weathered a tough season so far.’’

Meanwhile Werder Bremen won a crucial game against Freiburg last time out winning by one goal to nothing.

They also have an effective and proactive weapon in the form of Milot Rashica, the Kosovo international has been linked with Premier League giants, Liverpool. He’s found the net seven times this season and provided four assists.

Team News

Manager Florian Kohfeldt has two left-backs recovered from injury, Ludwig Augustinsson and Marco Friedl. While experienced center back Kevin Vogt who picked up an injury last week remains a doubt, concerning his fitness Kohfedlt said:

“He’s on the right track to being able to play, but we need to wait and see. We’ve not lost hope there yet,”
