The international break has hit Paris Saint-Germain’s preparations for their Champions League tie with Liverpool.
A club statement has confirmed Neymar and Kylian Mbappé will require further medical tests before their crucial match with the Merseysiders.
The pair received injuries during Brazil and France’s respective friendlies against Uruguay and Cameroon during the international break.
The PSG statement reads:
“Neymar Junior and Kylian Mbappé have today taken tests which confirm:
– Neymar Junior has an elongation of his right adductor
– Kylian Mbappé has a contusion if the right shoulderThey will undergo 48 hours treatment before a final clinical evaluation”
The statement appeared on PSG’s website ahead of their crunch match with Liverpool takes place on 28 November.
Neymar lasted just eight minutes into Brazil’s match with Cameroon, while World Cup winner Mbappé was forced off after 30 minutes against Uruguay.
Everton’s Richarlison replaced Neymar and scored the game’s only goal just before half time.
An Olivier Giroud penalty secured a narrow win for France after the disappointment of their UEFA Nations League exit.
PSG and Liverpool have it all to play for in the Champions League in Group C that also includes Napoli and Red Star Belgrade. Two points separate all four sides.
