Argentina looking to seal the deal against a tough Switzerland

Argentina is back in business as they really delivered a one-of-a-kind match where Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 10^th minute, followed by Julian Alvarez scoring in the 112^th minute and later with Lautaro Martinez scoring in the 120^th +1 to defeat Switzerland, 3-1.

Argentina are in the semifinals for a seventh time at the World Cup. They have won their previous six.

For Switzerland, Dan Ndoye scored in the 67^th minute, but were reduced to ten men five minutes later after Breel Embolo saw a second yellow in the 72^nd minute after VAR determined he was simulating to draw a yellow on Leandro Paredes.

Argentina will play England in Atlanta, Georgia, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET, in another chapter of their storied history between the two teams at the World Cup.
