Luis Romo took advantage of a goalkeeper mistake in the 50th minute to give Mexico a 1-0 win and advance to the next phase by winning Group B.

Mexico also got a clean sheet as their goalkeeper, Raul Tala Rangel delivered a seasoned performance under the posts for El Tri.

Estadio Guadalajara (aka Akron Stadium) saw a total sold out for the locals to support El Tri as well seeing how the team delivered with pure class in how the team delivered.

Again, hail to El Tri and its manager, Javier Aguirre. Despite El Tri having many shots at goal, the Koreans dominated the clock, controlling 57% of the ball, and the accuracy of their passing game was still dominated by the Koreans. However, the Koreans lacked the endeavor to generate a better attack.

Rangel denied Go Sue-sung on the line to keep El Tri alive. Kim Seung-gyu did well to deny Raul Jimenez and Obed Vargas, but it would be his howler in the 50th minute that would prove the difference.

Mexico will finish group play against Czechia with the group already sealed and potentially three more home matches on Wednesday (8pm CT, Fox/Telemundo). Despite the loss, South Korea can still advance with a win over South Africa in Monterrey (8pm CT, FS1/NBC Universo).
