The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium to a crowd of 26,385.

The match kicked off with Minnesota United FC passing the ball back from the center circle as they sent the ball into New England’s defensive third.
Entering the 3rd minute, New England were given penalty kick after forward Dor Turgeman was fouled inside the box.

Midfielder Carles Gil stepped up and buried the penalty kick into the bottom right corner past goalkeeper Drake Callendar to make it 1-0.
Tomás Chancalay had the first chance for Minnesota in the 8th minute when his effort toward goal was deflected away for a corner kick.
New England’s next chance came just two minutes later when winger Luca Langoni got in behind and looked to play a cut-back pass that was deflected away for a corner kick.

Dor Turgeman thought he had opened the scoring from a set-piece delivery by Carles Gil in the 13th minute, but the goal was disallowed after a foul was called prior to the delivery for an off-ball infraction by defender Brayan Ceballos.
Entering the 17th minute, Minnesota United FC thought they had leveled the scoreline after a goal by Kelvin Yeboah, but the goal was disallowed after Mauricio Pereyra was ruled offside in the buildup. Still 1-0 to New England.
Entering the 24th minute, Minnesota United FC were given a penalty kick after a foul inside the penalty area by midfielder Brooklyn Raines.

Forward Kelvin Yeboah’s right footed shot was placed into the bottom left of the net past goalkeeper Matt Turner to level the scoreline at 1-1.
Nicolás Romero had the next opportunity for Minnesota in the 33rd minute when his effort toward goal was comfortably saved by goalkeeper Matt Turner in the center of the goal.
Mauricio Pereyra had an opportunity of his own in the 38th minute when his volley attempt was sent high over the bar.
Less than one minute later, defender Will Sands had a massive chance for New England when his headed effort from close-range forced a save by goalkeeper Drake Callendar.
Minnesota had multiple chances to take the lead in the 40th minute, but several efforts toward goal were blocked and cleared away.

Peyton Miller had another chance for New England less than a minute later when his effort from the left side of the box was sent high over the bar.
Tomás Chancalay had an effort toward goal in the 45th minute that was met with a simple diving save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
New England had a massive chance to take the lead in the 45+2 minute when a combination play between Peyton Miller and Brooklyn Raines led to a close-range shot by Luca Langoni that was cleared away.
Dor Turgeman had the final chance of the half in the 45+6 minute when his left-footed effort from outside the area was placed wide of the net.
Entering the 45+7 minute, Midfielder Carles Gil was taken down in the penalty area and center official Rosendo Mendoza determined that no foul occurred. Interesting decision, scoreline remains 1-1.
After the initial 45+7 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 1-1.

The second half kicked off with New England controlling possession from the center circle and working the ball through midfield.

Forward Dor Turgeman drove forward and played the ball into space for a one-time finish by winger Luca Langoni to make it 2-1 to New England.
New England had a massive chance to add to their lead in the 58th minute when midfielder Carles Gil found defender Brayan Ceballos entering the box, but he elected to play a cut-back pass instead of taking a shot, and the ball was eventually cleared.
Dor Turgeman had a massive chance less than a minute later when his initial shot was deflected and his rebound attempt was sent just over the crossbar.
Nectarios Triantis had Minnesota’s first chance of the half in the 62nd minute when his shot from near the top center of the box was sent high over the bar.

In the 70th minute, both teams received yellow cards less than 3o seconds apart. Midfielder Brooklyn Raines was issued a yellow card after complaining a poor call. Defender Nicolas Romero was issued a yelllow card for fouling goalkeeper Matt Polster.
Following the foul, both teams made changes. Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović replaced winger Luca Langoni with midfielder Matt Polster.
Minnesota United FC head coach Cameron Knowles replaced forward Kelvin Yeboah, midfielder Michael Boxall, and defender Nicolás Romero with forward Mamadou Dieng, midfielder Owen Gene, and defender Devin Padelford.

Less than one minute later, Charlotte FC head coach Cameron Knowles replaced midfielder Nectarios Triantis with forward Mauricio Gonzalez.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner made an unbelievable save to deny a header towards goal by Anthony Markanich in the 84th minute.
Three minutes later, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his final change of the match by replacing forward Dor Turgeman with defender Tanner Beason.

Matt Turner made yet another clutch save in the 88th minute when he denied the header of Morris Duggan after a corner kick delivery by Tomás Chancalay.
Minnesota had a massive chance in the 90+2 minute when another corner kick sent into the area by midfielder Mauricio Pereyra was claimed by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
In the 90+2 minute, Revolution winger Griffin Yow was issued a yellow card for kicking the ball away after being called for an offside violation.
Minnesota’s last chance came in the 90+3 minute when another corner kick delivery by Tomás Chancalay was claimed by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
After the 90+5 minutes, the match concluded with New England holding on for the 2-1 victory.
