FOXBOROUGH, MA –New England Revolution (11-4-7, 37 pts.) were victorious 3-1 over Columbus Crew (5-5-12, 20 pts.) on Sunday evening.
The match kicked off at 4:30 p.m. ET at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field to a crowd of 25,000.

New England opened the match on the front foot, quickly looking to advance the ball and apply early pressure in Columbus’ defensive third.
Peyton Miller created the first opportunity of the match in the second minute, firing a left-footed shot from inside the box that was saved by Columbus goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
Less than a minute later, Matt Polster nearly gave the Revolution the lead with a volley that narrowly missed the left post.
Entering the 8th minute, Columbus took the lead.

Midfielder Mohamed Farsi found Brais Méndez on the right side of the box, where his close-range effort took a deflection and found the back of the net to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.
Carles Gil had the next opportunity for New England in the 17th minute, sending a left-footed strike high and wide of the crossbar.
Less than a minute later, Gil threatened again, this time sending another left-footed effort just wide of the right post.
Dor Turgeman had the next chance for New England in the 23rd minute when Jack Harrison’s service into the area found the forward, whose header sailed just over the crossbar.

In the 25th minute, Columbus Crew midfielder Tarun Karumanchi was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on Carles Gil.
New England’s next chance came in the 30th minute when a free kick effort by Carles Gil was caught comfortably by goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
Less than a minute later, Peyton Miller had a golden opportunity to equalize, but his left-footed effort was saved and pushed out for a corner kick.
New England continued to apply pressure and eventually found the equalizer in the 32nd minute.

Following a corner kick into the area from Carles Gil, Mamadou Fofana headed the ball into the path of Matt Polster, who slotted his effort into the bottom corner to level the match at 1-1.
Dor Turgeman had New England’s next opportunity in the 35th minute, but his long-range effort sailed well over the crossbar.
Less than a minute later, Jack Harrison cut inside the box and fired a left-footed shot that was comfortably handled by Patrick Schulte.
Turgeman threatened again in the 37th minute, forcing Schulte into another save as the Columbus goalkeeper pushed his effort away for a corner kick.

Midfielder Carles Gil found forward Dor Turgeman entering the area who then smashed the ball into the top corner to give New England the 2-1 lead.
Josef Martínez had a massive chance to restore Columbus’ lead in the 43rd minute, but his effort was cleared off the line by Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana.
After the opening 45+3 minutes, the match entered halftime with New England ahead 2-1.

Columbus opened the second half on the front foot, quickly looking to advance the ball and apply pressure in New England’s midfield.
Malte Amundsen had the first chance of the second half in the 48th minute when his right footed shot from outside the box was sent over the bar.
Less than a minute later, Peyton Miller had an effort of his own when his left footed shot from outside of the box was saved by goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
Alhassan Yusuf continued New England’s pressure in the 55th minute when his effort from inside the box sailed over the bar.
New England thought they had extended their lead in the 59th minute when Mamadou Fofana tapped home an effort at the back post, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

In the 61st minute, Crew head coach Laurent Courtois made his first two changes of the match, replacing Josef Martínez and Tarun Karumanchi with Gonzalo Tapia and César Ruvalcaba.
Entering the 73rd minute, New England thought they had taken the lead when Carles Gil played a ball into the penalty area for Dor Turgeman, who chipped his finish into the back of the net. However, the goal was disallowed after Turgeman was ruled narrowly offside.
In the 77th minute, Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf was issued a yellow card for delaying a restart.
Less than two minutes later, in the 79th minute, New England added to their lead.

Less than a minute later, Miller nearly added another, but his effort was denied by Patrick Schulte.
Dor Turgeman had another massive opportunity in the 86th minute, taking on two defenders before unleashing a close-range effort that forced Schulte into a save.
In the 87th minute, both teams turned to their benches. Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his first change of the match, replacing Turgeman with Wilson Harris, while Crew head coach Laurent Courtois replaced Eric Bailly and André Gomes with Dylan Chambost and Andrés Herrera.
Less than a minute later, Gonzalo Tapia had an opportunity for Columbus, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

In the 89th minute, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his second change of the match, replacing Jack Harrison with Ilay Feingold.
Less than a minute later, Crew head coach Laurent Courtois made his final change of the match, replacing Brais Méndez with Lautaro Giaccone.
Wilson Harris had a massive chance to add to New England’s lead in the 90th minute when his effort was sent over the bar.
Less than a minute later, Malte Amundsen had a massive opportunity to pull Columbus within one, but his right-footed effort from less than three yards out at the back post narrowly missed the right post.
In the 90+3 minute, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his final changes of the match, replacing Alhassan Yusuf & Carles Gil with Diego Fagundez & Jackson Yueill.
After 90 minutes and six minutes of stoppage time, the final whistle sounded with New England securing a comfortable 3-1 victory over Columbus.
