PAWTUCKET, RI– Rhode Island FC have signed defender Hamady Diop to a multi-year contract.
Diop will occupy a senior roster slot.

Hamady Diop is a 23-year-old, 6’1, 180lb defender from Dakar, Senegal.
At the club level, Diop has appeared in 31 career games (1,707 minutes) across the United States & Serbia. Diop began his career with the Charlotte FC (2023-24) when he was selected 1st overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. He would play on loan for Crown Legacy (2023-24) & FK Čukarički (2024). In December of 2024, he was selected by San Diego FC in the 2024 MLS Expansion Draft. He was later waived by the club in August of 2025.
In total career numbers, the defender has played 31 career professional matches (1,707 minutes) where he registered 0 goals and 2 assists with 4 yellow cards and 0 red cards.
