A huge turnaround is needed for Brett Hodgson’s men and it’s going to be a tough ask against the French side, Toulouse. They suffered a 11-24 defeat to Salford and are still fighting for survival as they sit in eleventh, level on points with Wakefield who came close against the champions St.Helens losing out to a Jack Welsby’s drop goal in Golden Point.

The black and whites however are looking to get back in the top eight, dropping out of the Play-Offs after a costly 18-46 defeat at the hands of former Head Coach Lee Radfords Castleford. Hull has only won one of their last seven games, leaving plenty of questions to be asked. This game could be a huge confidence boost for the black and whites, with new recruit Will Smith set to make his debut, it could be a night to remember in Toulouse.
The last time the two sides met, that being the first time they had played each other, saw a 48-12 victory for the home side. It will be Hull’s first visit to the Stade Ernest Wallon and away form is a problem for Hull as they have only won two out of ten away from home. Since the last time both sides met, they have gone on very different paths, Toulouse winning three of their last five. However, the black and whites have only won one of their last five games
Hull has been hit with two bans, Connor Wynne receiving a Grade A receiving a one-match ban. Ligi Sao has also been charged with a Grade D after receiving a red card last Friday for striking a Castleford player, and the incident has been referred to Tribunal.
Toulouse will be missing Daniel Alvaro after he received a Grade B penalty notice for dangerous contact and has been handed a one-match ban.

Player Watch:

Toulouse Olympique Number 31- Olly Ashall-Bott: The former Huddersfield man joined the newly promoted side at the start of the 2022 season, he did however play for Huddersfield in Toulouse’s first-ever Super League game. He’s impressed massively over in France and has been one of Toulouse’s stand-out players in the Super League.

Hull FC Number 40- Will Smith: No it isn’t the Actor/Songwriter but the former Gold Coast man will sure want to be Gettin’ Jiggy Wit’ It for the black and whites. Brett Hodgson has brought him in to add some utility value to a very depleted Hull FC squad. Smith was recently released from the Titans making just nine appearances this year.
